Binocular treatment of amblyopia using videogames (BRAVO)

Treatment of older children and young adults with amblyopia (lazy eye) can be challenging as traditional treatment with an eye patch is often unacceptable. Recently the use of video or iPad games have shown promise as an alternative treatment. The BRAVO study is a double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled multicentre trial to assess the effectiveness of a novel videogame-based binocular treatment for amblyopia in older children and adults. Our Orthoptist, Sandra Staffieri has been involved in the trial. Results will soon be published.
